Sandlapper's Corner visits Carowinds and Charles Towne Landing in this episode! Carowinds is one of the Carolinas' most popular places to go. Built on the state line between North and South Carolina, Carowinds has seven sections taking you through various historical periods. Interspersed with the history, there are many rides to delight young and old, including a steamboat excursion. The grounds can be viewed on foot, by train, monorail and tower view.

The exhibition park at Charles Towne Landing was completed in 1970 and it was one of three Tricenntenial Parks to celebrate South Carolina's History. Within the pavilion are scale replicas of the door of the Heyward-Washington Manor in Charleston, as well as the steeple of St. Michael's Church. There are exhibits highlighting the history of the state, as well as gardens showcasing the former money crops of the state. Additionally, there is an animal forest, which shows animals in their native habitats that the early settlers might have seen.

Sandlapper’s Corner was a children's educational program that began airing on SCETV in the 1970s. Produced by Dr. Sandra G. Thomas, the show was about South Carolina—its people and places, its present and past.
