In 2020, SCETV’s Education Division ramped up its emphasis on early learning and literacy by hiring a new Early Learning and Literacy Coordinator and introducing new professional development sessions for early learning educators. SCET Education is also continuing to build upon programming and community outreach activities for early learners and their families through initiatives like Meet the Helpers.
In addition to these efforts, we introduced a new texting service designed for early childhood parents and caregivers. Bright by Text provides FREE, quality tips, games, and resources from SCETV, PBS, and a number of other trusted sources. Messages are designed for parents and caregivers of children prenatal to age eight and include topics pertinent to language, literacy, social and emotional learning, caregiver resilience, safety, and developmental milestones. Interested parties will receive 4 – 6 texts per week and can sign up for the service by entering the child’s date of birth and zip code.
Are you interested in gaining access to invaluable tools for your early learner? Sign up for the Bright by Text service by texting “SCETV” to 274448. For more information about the service, contact Bre Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
