Sandlapper’s Corner goes to the South Carolina coast to view the sights! The first stop is the Grand Strand, which is a beloved tourist haven. For those wanting a quieter experience than the bustling Myrtle Beach, there are smaller beaches, harbors and gardens in the coastal area that are also popular with tourists.
Moving on to Charleston, we get a virtual tour in a horse-drawn carriage of Rainbow Row and some of the sights that include the Market, Dock Street Theater and more. Middleton, Magnolia, and Cypress Gardens are highlighted.
The abundant history of the area is recounted, with Sullivan's Island, Parris Island, Fripp Island, and Hilton Head included in the program.
Sandlapper’s Corner was a children's educational program that began airing on SCETV in the 1970s. Produced by Dr. Sandra G. Thomas, the show was about South Carolina—its people and places, its present and past.
