About Great Scenic Railway Journeys

The 1830 introduction of the steam engine blazed a trail linking the East Coast to the West, transforming the United States and Canada into industrial powerhouses. Only a few steam engines remain operational today, painstakingly and lovingly preserved by a dedicated army of mostly volunteers scattered throughout the U.S. and Canada.
