South Carolina Prepares for Winter Weather Season
With freezing low temperatures already chilling South Carolinians this week, several state officials told citizens on Tuesday to be prepared for the winter weather season and the potential hazards it may bring over the coming months.
U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Robert E. Livingston, the S.C. Adjutant General, said one way to do that is to be prepared before the weather becomes an issue.
The Palmetto State has experienced snow, sleet and freezing rain during wintertime in recent years and could again this year; however, the La Nina effect will likely lead to a warmer and drier winter, according to John Quagliariello with the National Weather Service in Columbia.
