Technology allows us to connect faster, easier, and better than ever before. However, in a quickly changing world, the rules are somewhat vague and tend to change. How can we utilize social networks properly to network in our communities?

Rob Mendenall is the founder of a networking group on LinkedIn called Midlands Connecting. This group has over 3800 members and continues to grow on a daily basis. It connects community members throughout the Midlands by providing a place where people can share their needs and talents in a professional social networking setting. To add icing to the cake, the group holds meetings throughout the year to support charities across South Carolina.

Rob shares some of his insights with us about how to properly use LinkedIn and Midlands Connecting as a networking platform and provides tips to better connect with people in a professional manner, both online and face-to-face.
