Under the baton of Music Director Morihiko Nakahara, the South Carolina Philharmonic is presenting its 2021/2022 Masterworks Series at the Koger Center for the Arts in Columbia, SC - the SC Philharmonic’s performance home for over three decades. Featuring an exciting slate of time-tested classics, contemporary and world premiere works, the SC Phil returns this season with in-person and livestream concerts that can be experienced all over the world.

“We are always excited to partner with SCETV,” said Executive Director Rhonda Hunsinger. “We share a mission of enriching lives through classical music. They are such strong supporters of the SC Philharmonic, showcasing our various concerts throughout each season on programs like Carolina Live and Sonatas and Soundscapes, and supporting our educational vision.”

In the New Year, the SC Philharmonic will be presenting thrilling pieces from Beethoven, Gershwin, Rachmaninoff and Rimsky-Korsakov, along with world premiere works like Dick Goodwin’s Partial Absence - Full Forgiveness and David Kirkland Garner’s Melt. Featured guest artists include Rachel Lee Priday (violin) and Johnnie Felder (tenor).

“This season we’re enthusiastic to return to our musical home at the Koger Center for live performances,” said Hunsinger, “and to regularly feature members of our SC Philharmonic family. This season is a celebration of our community - our musicians, our patrons, and our supporters.”
