High-school Students

  • APPLY NOW FOR THE SRL SUMMER ACADEMY IN WASHINGTON D.C.! 
    • Spend an all-expenses paid week, June 19-27, 2024, producing stories with the SRL team and working with student journalists from across the country in Washington D.C. 
    • Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and 2024 graduates are invited to apply. 
    • Prepare a 1-3 minute video explaining why you should be selected for this opportunity, secure a recommendation letter, and apply by March 24, 2024.

    • AL NEUHARTH FREE SPIRIT AND JOURNALISM CONFERENCE
      Winners of this Freedom Forum competition will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to D.C. from June 22-27, 2024, a $1,000 college scholarship, and the opportunity to engage with leading journalists and visit newsrooms. High school juniors interested in journalism and on-track to graduate in the Class of 2025 can apply. Hurry, get your work samples, letters of recommendations and essays ready and apply by March 15, 2024.
       
    • LEADERSHIP TRAINING + STARTUP GRANT
      The Call for Kindness from the Riley's Way Foundation gives young leaders (ages 13-23) across the country the skills, connections, and funding they need to run social impact projects that inspire kindness and strengthen their local, national, or global communities. The Call For Kindness consists of a 12-month leadership development fellowship and a startup grant of up to $5,000. Apply by March 25, 2024.
