5 pm Sunday: South Carolina prepares for historic rainfall, Debby to crawl
Hurricane Hunters investigated Tropical Storm Debby this afternoon and they did not find winds above 65 mph. Hunters will make another round this evening and continue to measure winds and pressure, among other characteristics to determine if it strengthens tonight. Satellite imagery does show that the core of the system is trying to close, this is a sign of intensification as the eye wall tries to close off and become symmetric.

Tropical Storm Debby: McMaster declares state of emergency for SC
Gov. Henry McMaster on Sunday declared a state of emergency for South Carolina as Tropical Storm Debby moved its way over Florida and toward the Lowcountry.
The declaration followed McMaster's Saturday authorization placing S.C. National Guard members in Florida to assist the state's emergency responders.

Tropical Depression 4: Track shift, South Carolina needs to monitor its speed closely
The system we have been monitoring strengthened and became a tropical depression late last night. Tropical Depression 4 will emerge over the Florida Straits on Saturday and travel over the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The track has shifted westward, with a more pronounced curve that keeps it over the warm waters longer and gives it more time to become stronger.
