High rain chances for coastal and outer coastal South Carolina tonight and tomorrow

A slow-moving and strong cold front is bringing severe weather to portions of the Southeast this week, including South Carolina.

Severe thunderstorms and damaging winds threatened the state last night and this morning, and rain totals are expected to continue to climb for the eastern half of the state, according to Florida Public Radio Emergency Network Meteorologist Jeff George.

The cold front is expected to shift east over several states Tuesday and Wednesday.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible and could spread farther north overnight and into Wednesday morning.

Heavy rain and storms could impact travel plans, so be prepared to adjust as needed. Stay weather aware with the latest updates and alerts this holiday season.
