South Carolina ETV receives three Communicator Awards

The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts has announced the winners of the 29th Annual Communicator Awards, with South Carolina ETV (SCETV) receiving three wins.

With around 3,000 entries received from across the U.S. and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. 

Three SCETV promotions were selected to receive the Award of Distinction:

SCETV Safe Space Public Service Announcement

Safe Space is a conversational-style television program initiative that brings together teens and professionals to discuss issues facing South Carolina’s youth. The SCETV Safe Space initiative debuted in September 2022 and is funded by a grant from Twin Cities PBS (TPT) to support a multi-platform production and community engagement initiative to inform, illuminate and activate suicide prevention strategies for vulnerable populations. South of Spooky Podcast Promotion

South of Spooky is a podcast that features the lighthearted exploration of history and culture through the lens of local legends and their impact on communities across our region, such as the Gray Man of Pawleys Island, the unexplained hauntings at the historic Poinsette Bridge in Landrum and more. Hosts A.T. Shire and Gavin Jackson visit these sites and speak with historians, authors, paranormal experts and local citizens to see how these stories reflect our society’s values, ways of life and personal histories. 2022 SCETV Holiday Promotion

SCETV and SC Public Radio staff shared good tidings and heartfelt greetings to bring to its viewers and listeners holiday cheer by sharing their favorite holiday traditions, songs and memories. Through the holiday promotion viewers were able to get to know some of the faces behind the camera and behind the microphone at South Carolina’s statewide public media station. The Award of Distinction is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement. The Communicator Awards is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, an invitation-only group consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms. 

Founded nearly three decades ago, the Communicator Awards is dedicated to recognizing excellence, effectiveness and innovation across all areas of communication. The organization received over 4,000 entries from companies, agencies and studios, making it one of the largest and most diverse awards shows of its kind.
