Two episodes of By The River play this week and you’ll want to tune into both.  First, at 8:00 p.m. Thursday on ETV, Bernie Schein is featured, along with his book, Famous All Over Town. Schein is a character himself, and viewers who are unfamiliar with him will quickly discover that. Bernie’s the kind of person you want to invite to any dinner party - the conversation never stops with him!  Bernie lets us in on a few of Beaufort’s worst-kept secrets and takes a serious turn when talking about the impact his best friend Pat Conroy had on the world.

Next up is Al Chaput at 8:30 p.m. Chaput is a tireless writer who is very active on social media. He is known by friends for his motivational posts on Facebook and Twitter. He is very involved in a tight-knit writing group and he talks about that on By The River. Chaput’s path toward being an author is one in which any hopeful author can gain knowledge. He explains how he got his book, Savannah Sleuth, published and the hurdles – and fun - of promoting your book.

We hope you’ll join us for these great shows.  If you have an idea of an author who should be featured, email Holly Jackson at
