President's Corner Monthly Newsletter, November 2015
Dear Viewers and Listeners:
We here at SCETV and South Carolina Public Radio can hardly believe 2015 is almost over! We have had an abundance of worthwhile accomplishments this year and, in this Thanksgiving month, we are thankful to have had the opportunity to serve the citizens of this state.
ETV partnered with PBS, WETA Washington and WGBH Boston for an unprecedented broadcast from Charleston, S.C., America After Charleston. The hour-long town hall meeting, broadcast nationwide, explored the many issues propelled into public discourse after a white gunman shot and killed nine African-American parishioners in Charleston’s Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in June. Gwen Ifill moderated the special.
ETV’s winter Festival begins November 28 and contains lots of inspiring programming, from music to how-to’s to drama. And for the younger generation, Nature Cat premieres this month, which is an animated series about a house cat who loves to explore the great outdoors.
You will notice that the ETV Endowment has launched a new logo; one that we think is clean, bold and visually representative of the support that you continue to give. Keep an eye out for the new SCETV and S.C. Public Radio logos in the near future.
We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday filled with joy and laughter.
