Greenville High School Student is Selected as PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs Fellow

SRL Fellows 2018

PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs gives students across the country the opportunity to become a Student Reporting Labs Fellow and visit Washington, D.C during the summer to work alongside public media mentors to produce original content and sharpen their production and journalism skills. During this fellowship, SRL Fellows will help program leaders develop strategies to engage young people with news and current affairs, and ensure that diverse youth voices are active in the conversations about critical issues facing the nation.

The PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs program connects middle and high school students to local PBS stations and news professionals in their community to produce original, student-generated video reports. South Carolina ETV is a mentor to Legacy Early College High School in Greenville, South Carolina. We are therefore extremely excited to announce that Elijah Hernandez-Jordan, a student from Legacy Early College, is 1 out of 25 students selected as a Student Reporting Lab Fellow! With over 2,000 student journalists in the Student Reporting Labs program, this is an exceptional accomplishment and we wish Elijah the best this summer. Good luck Elijah, we can’t wait to see what you produce!
