After the Governor's Carolighting, the holidays have arrived in South Carolina, and everyone has their favorite activity or tradition. There are all kinds of events happening in the coming weeks, and we would love to see what you are up to across the state! 30th Annual Columbia Christmas Pageant

First Baptist of Columbia is celebrating the Christmas Season with its 30th Annual Christmas pageant! There will be thousands of lights, music, dancing and singing...sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Dec. 8 - 10, 2017 - First Baptist Church; see website for performance times, tickets are free but required for entry.

Annual Menorah Lighting at the State House

The Isadore E. Lourie Memorial Menorah will be lit for the 11th Annual Menorah lighting at the South Carolina State House. There will be live music, gift bags, hot apple cider, latkes and a speech from Mayor Steve Benjamin. All faiths are welcome.

Blythewood Christmas Parade

Blythewood's Christmas Parade will take place in Downtown Blythewood, with all funds raised going to the Christian Assistance Bridge in Blythewood, which supports the needs of those in the community.

Camden 41st Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes

Camden's Candlelight Tour of Homes allows visitors the rare opportunity to enter Camden's finest homes to enjoy Christmas decor, music and special furnishings. The self-guided tour begins at 1314 Broad St, Camden, SC, 29020. The hospitality stop will be set up and offering refreshments.

Cayce-West Columbia Holiday Parade of Lights

This beloved night-time parade begins at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Cayce Municipal Complex at 1800 12th St., proceeding down 12th to 12th St. and Hwy 1 in West Columbia!

Christmas Candlelight Tours

Enjoy candlelit vignettes, costumed interpreters and recreations of the lives of backcountry settlers in the 18th and 19th century! There will also be campfires, music and visits with Father Christmas.

Columbia City Ballet Presents "The Nutcracker"

A family holiday tradition in Columbia, the classic story of The Nutcracker comes to life through the Columbia City Ballet.

Crafty Feast

Crafty Feast is Columbia's juried indie craft fair, featuring 100 makers across the southeast. You are sure to find a unique gift for friends and family, or even yourself while listening to music, enjoying craft beer and wine and DIY craft stations for adults as well as children.

Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas (Film Screening)

Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas, set in a Chinese restaurant, is filled with music, start to finish, and centered around the Jewish tradition of eating Chinese food on Christmas and this shared experience of the Jewish and Chinese culture. The brainchild of Director Larry Weinstein will be screened at the Katie and Irwin Kahn Jewish Community Center (JCC). Tickets include a Chinese dinner!

Celebrate the second night of Hanukkah with stories, songs, treats and crafts with special guest Devorah Marrus.

Historic Holiday House Tours

Historic Columbia invites you to see a variety of holiday decorations and traditions at the Rober Mills House and Hampton-Preston Mansion. Guides will provide stories of holidays past in Columbia and how families decorated and celebrated in the 19th and 20th centuries. 

There are many Historic Columbia holiday events throughout December. For a special candlelight tour of the homes and carriage rides, visit Dec. 15, 2017 from 5:30 - 9 p.m.

Jingle Days

It's time for holiday family fun when you visit the South Carolina State Museum! There will be holiday-themed light shows at the planetarium including: Star of Bethlehem, Laser Holiday and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The 4D Theater will be playing The Polar Express 4-D Experience where you can feel the wind whipping, and even see some snow while enjoying the holiday film. There will also be special hands-on crafts, visits with Santa, a screening of Frozen and more!

Inspired by the Rockettes, see Carolina Freestyle perform a special holiday performance featuring clogging, lyrical dance and singing!

Lancaster Annual Christmas Parade - Christmas in the City

Located in the Cultural Arts District of the Red Rose City, this year's theme is Misfit Toys!

Lights Before Christmas

Zoo animals and millions of lights? There is something for children of all ages at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden's long-standing tradition. There will be nightly visits with Santa, the Jingle Bell Bonfire, the Holly Jolly Christmas Parade, an Animated Story Tree and more!

Lights, Cocoa, & Sufganiyot

Join friends from the PJ Library of the Columbia Jewish Federation at the Katie and Irwin Kahn Jewish Community Center (JCC). The big menorah will be lit at 5:30 p.m. and there will be sufaniyot, cocoa, latkes, crafts and games!

Main Street ICE

Main Street ICE Has returned to Columbia for its sixth season! Located in front of the Columbia Museum of Art in Boyd Plaza at the corner of Main and Hampton streets, skaters of all ages are welcome to ice skate in the Capital City, no matter how warm it may be outside!

Newberry County Chamber Christmas Tour of Homes

Three beautiful homes and the Central United Methodist Church will be festively decorated and open to the public with a Wine and Cheese reception from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purhcased from the Newberry County Chamber of Commerce!

Newberry's North Pole Night Downtown!

The North Pole has taken over Downtown Newberry! Come for faux snow, pictures with Santa in Memorial Park and Story Time with Mrs. Claus at the Newberry County Chamber of Commerce office in Community Hall.

Santa's Christmas Party

The Columbia Marionette Theatre has a special holiday production! Santa's head elf, Spangler, is trying to throw Santa a surprise party, but Santa is on vacation! Will he make it on time?

The Singing Christmas Tree

Shandon Baptist will be ringing in the Christmas season with its annual Singing Christmas Tree, a 30-foot tree holding a 100+-person choir, accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra and a dramatic telling of the Christmas story.

Town of South Congaree Christmas Parade

The Town of South Congaree celebrates the Holidays with their annual parade! There will be bands, floats, and of course, Santa Claus! The parade will begin at Chapel Road. Go to the Horse Arena after the parade for pictures with Santa!

Town Theatre's Miracle on 34th Street: The Musical

The Town Theatre puts on a holiday classic from the writer of The Music Man! Single and practial mother, Doris Walker, doesn't want her young daughter Susan's head filled with fairy tales, yet through a series of circumstances, she meets a man working at Macy's who may be the real Kris Kringle himself!

Train Rides with Santa

Santa has arrived at the South Carolina Railroad Museum and he is taking train rides with the good children of the Palmetto State! On Twilight Rides, sip hot chocolate in your pajamas just like the Polar Express.

Trustus Theatre's A Christmas Miracle at Richland Fashion Mall

Trustus Theatre's resident sketch comedy and improv troupe has created an orginal piece sure to make you feel the holiday spirit and laugh! The Richland Fashion Mall is hardly bustling except for struggling store owners, uppity employees from the big-box book store, the resident mallrats and more; hijinks are sure to ensue!
