After the Governor's Carolighting, the holidays have arrived in South Carolina, and everyone has their favorite activity or tradition. There are all kinds of events happening in the coming weeks, and we would love to see what you are up to across the state! Annual Edisto Christmas Parade

The 26th Annual Christmas Parade will proceed down Palmetto Boulevard on Edisto Island. This year's theme is "Edisto Christmas Treasures"! Following the parade Santa will be at the Pavilion Dining Room to greet children.

Annual Holiday Festival of Lights

The 27th Annual James Island Holiday Festival of Lights, which has been recognized as one of the best around the country and even the world, will features millions of lights, a sand sculpture, holiday train, treats at Santa's Sweet Shoppe and a Victorian carousel! Other events at the festival will be happening throughout the month.

Carolina Opry's Christmas Show of the South

Celebrating its 32nd season, the Carolina Opry's Christmas Show of the South will feature Christmas classics, new seasonal favorites, comedy, dancing and beautiful costumes. There will even be a horse drawn sleigh and snow! The Opry's decorations alone feature over 35 Christmas trees.

Chanukah in the Square

This citywide celebration of the festival of lights starts with the lighting of the Menorah by local Holocaust survivors, and continues with live music, jump castles, face painting, craft tables, latkes and donuts. Celebrate the Feast of Lights in Marion Square at South Carolina's largest annual Jewish event in the state!

Charleston Christmas Special

Former Broadway stars and Charleston producers Brad and Jennifer Moranz have created a holiday show with classic Christmas favorites, new holiday tunes and comedy sketches!

Charleston Museum's Toddler Day: Reindeer Games

The Charleston Museum invites kids to try their hand at ring toss on antlers and to create a reindeer craft! There will be finger painting, a puppet stage, a sandbox and more.

Charleston Symphony Orchestra: Holy City Messiah, Holiday Strong and Family Holiday Pops Concert

Enjoy the Charleston Symphony Orchestra with several holiday themed performances. Holy City Messiah celebrates Handel's best-known work at three historic Charleston churches! Holiday Strings is at the Charleston Library Society, with traditional classics, family favorites and some sing alongs. The Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Chorus join together to bring a family-friendly holiday tradition at Charleston Southern University's Lightsey Chapel.

Dock Street Theatre: A Christmas Carol and Junie B. In Jingle Bells, Batman Smells!

Visit Charleston's Historic Dock Street Theatre to see two holiday hits! See the classic Charles Dicken's tale in A Christmas Carol! There will be Christmas Card sets, hundreds of costumes, a live orchestra and even flying spirits! For Junie B. Jones fans, Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells! is based on the best-selling book series by Barbara Park. Junie B. is trying to keep the holiday spirit of peace and good will, but tattletale May is making it difficult!

Harbour Town Lights

Walk among the lights as you stroll along the harbor and enjoy the giant Christmas Tree!

Holiday Fun in Harbour Town

Gather around the Sea Pines Resort’s Liberty Oak to watch classic holiday movies, roast marshmallows and enjoy train rides, games and activities. Movie and marshmallow roasting start at 6 P.M. Complimentary with the donation of a canned good food item for the Deep Well Project.

Described as a “Merry Madcap Mystery”! A socialite’s party is in shambles when her Maltese Fruitcake is stolen, and Inspector NoClue is on the case. The Black Fedora presents a comic whodunit with audience participation, a la carte appetizers, desserts and drinks. Recommended for children over the age of 9.

Light Up the Night Parade Party

A public, ticketed parade party catered by Sticky Fingers with a cash bar and holiday music at the Charleston Maritime Center! This is the official viewing party for Charleston's Parade of Boats. the Watch the boats in all of their holiday finery!

Night of a Thousand Candles

Brookgreen Gardens comes to life with the light of over 5,500 hand-lit candles and sparkling lights. Walk the paths to the sound of hand bells, carolers and celebration. An 80-foot-tall fir tree decorated with 70,000 lights will be lighted in a ceremonial fasion at 5:45 P.M. every night. Glass sculptures can be found in Anne's Garden.

Parade of Boats

The 36th annual Parade of Boats is presented by the Charleston Rotary Club. Lighted and festive boats will parade through Charleston’s waters. View the procession along Charleston’s waterfront or decorate your boat and join the parade. Santa will even arrive by boat! More than 30 boats are already registered!

Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach's Festival of Trees

Over 100 amazing trees are decorated with themes from a white decorated Alaska tree to a magnificent Mardi Gars tree. There will also be a mailbox to Santa, and on Dec. 9, 2017, you can eat breakfast with Santa!
