Haley Praises S.C. Domestic Violence Task Force

January 8, 2016 - Posted in Palmetto Scene by Katie Geer

Gov. Haley spoke to the press Thursday about how pleased she is with the 50 recommendations from the task force, which has been looking into the issue of domestic violence since early 2015. The recommendations suggest things such as guidelines at workplaces on how to handle reports and making reporting abuse easier and safer, changing the police prosecution of cases, and insuring speedy trials.

S.C. once again ranked number one in the nation for women killed by men in the last year. It is the third time the state has held the top spot.
