Disaster Recovery Centers Open in Midlands

Two disaster recovery centers are now open in Columbia and Lexington. The centers are open from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7 days a week to assist with flood survivors. SCEMD, FEMA, and other agencies are on hand to explain available programs and help residents apply for aid. Some of the individual and family assistance includes money for temporary residence and home repairs not covered by insurance.

The centers are located at:

Lexington Main Library
5440 Augusta Road
Lexington

and

Irmo Branch Library
6251 St. Andrews Road
Columbia

FEMA also suggests to register before going to the centers, if possible. You may do that by going online to DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800-621-3362. Disaster assistance applicants who are deaf or hard of hearing should call 800-462-7585 (TTY). For Video Relay Service or accommodations to visit a center, call 800-621-3362.
