Chester Park School of Inquiry Wins 2013 WhatWorksSC Award

Over the past few years, the Richard W. Riley Institute at Furman University has been studying education in South Carolina to learn about programs that work. On October 16, 2013, three programs were recognized at the WhatWorksSC awards.

The goal of the awards is to engage educators, students, policy makers and other stakeholders in discussion and dialogue about education in the state. The 2013 Award Winner was the Chester Park School of Inquiry’s Project-Based Learning Initiative.

The initiative was created to improve student learning through authentic and engaging learning experiences. This project is especially critical for students who are at risk for academic failure. In the above video, Chester Park's teachers and students talk about the initiative and how it has made an impact in their school.
