The Automower

September 5, 2018 - Posted in Making it Grow by Sean Flynn

"Making It Grow" traveled to Super Sod in Orangeburg, SC to speak with Nick Sangella on the Automower, a new innovation in lawn care. This robotic lawn mower has many benefits including recycling grass clippings and improving the quality of the soil on one’s lawn, cutting grass in either rain or shine, maintaining height of lawn and not scalping, easy mower machine maintenance, repair, and blade exchange. The automower uses a GPS navigation system insuring that it knows where to go in the lawn and making it possible to keep islands in the yard that are not cut along with the rest of the lawn. When the blade comes into contact with an object that is harder than the grass, it pivots out of the way. It also features an alarm system which is triggered after being picked up discouraging theft.
