Team "Making It Grow" travels to the USDA-Agricultural Research Service's U.S. Vegetable Laboratory in Charleston, SC to talk with Research Entomologist Dr. Livy Williams and also Research Geneticist Dr. Phillip A. Wadl about their research on sweet potatoes. We discuss how their research will help farmers meet the challenges of growing sweet potatoes in the future by providing them with cultivars that have resistance to weeds, insects, and diseases and can be grown with the fewest inputs for a more sustainable crop.
