Join us on January 17 for a FREE and innovative training session on Media Literacy.

NewsLit Camp is a day-long professional development experience based on an “edcamp” style of continuing education. It empowers you to teach news literacy through topical sessions and educator-driven planning time. This format gives education professionals an opportunity to come together for a day of conversations with journalists and news literacy experts.

Journalists help by leading breakout sessions giving educators a unique opportunity to understand how journalists do their jobs, the lengths they go to gather and verify information that matters to community members, the role they play in protecting the public’s interest and why a free and independent press is so important to our democracy.

NewsLit camps have been offered nationwide with a total of 153 volunteer journalists and over a thousand educators. News partners have included The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, NPR (twice), Univision, The Houston Chronicle, the San Francisco Chronicle and 9NEWS and others.

This session is being offered in partnership with NewsLit, SCETV, and Richland School District Two.
