Carolina Classrooms - Reading to Learn: The Third Grade Pivot

Students who struggle with reading at the end of third grade will continue to fall behind their peers and risk not graduating.  Carolina Classrooms - Reading to Learn: The Third Grade Pivot delves into literacy in our schools.

Carolina Classrooms is ETV’s educational series for teachers, parents and all citizens invested in the education of our children. This new episode, hosted by Dr. Akil Ross, will explore how students learn, how they are taught, and what programs are available to support literacy in South Carolina.

Guests include Quincie Moore, director of Early Learning and Literacy at the South Carolina Department of Education, and Ashley Davis, library media specialist at Manning Primary School. We’ll hear from third grade teachers in Summerville, Manning and Rock Hill, and we’ll check out the Richland County Public Library.
