Are you a third grade teacher?

Carolina Classrooms is SCETV’s online and on TV education program that highlights K-12 and higher education stories from around the state. We celebrate South Carolina educators and students who work hard and study hard every day.

Our October episode will examine 3rd grade literacy skills. In fourth grade and beyond, the focus will shift from learning basic literacy skills to using those skills to learn and understanding new information. With this episode, we want to share how students learn to read, the challenges they may face and the support available to them.

We’d like to hear from teachers with third grade experience, either current or past, reading coaches, librarians, or media specialists willing to talk on camera for a brief interview that we will do virtually through zoom sometime during September.

We’d also like to hear from students about what they like to read and what helps them or challenges them as they learn.

Your time is valuable, and we’ll work around your schedules and needs. Interviews should not take more than half an hour.

If you are able and interested in being a part of the show or have another story to share, email us at: carolinaclassrooms@scetv.org
