Her experience has led her to believe the essential difference can be found in Finland’s focus on the use of current research in the teacher education curriculum.

South Carolina ETV partnered with the Riley Institute to delve deeper into an issue critical to South Carolina (and the nation), teacher shortage, SCETV and the Riley Institute visited Finland to explore a country that's having immense success in retaining teachers and student academic achievement to look into possible solutions for South Carolina. Twenty-three South Carolina education stakeholders visited Finland’s public schools October 14-21, 2018 to gain insight into critical challenges in public education in South Carolina.
