ETV/PBS Now Offering 3 Read To Succeed Courses

Educators, have you met your Read To Succeed credit requirement yet? ETV’s PBS TeacherLine program is now offering three Read To Succeed (R2S)-approved courses to help you!

In addition to our Foundations in Reading course, offered since 2016, the SC Department of Education recently approved two additional PBS TeacherLine courses for R2S credit: Content Area Reading and Writing and Instructional Practices.

Each course is offered for 60 Renewal Credits (or for 3 Graduate Credits for an additional fee).

These online, facilitator-led courses last six weeks and are offered several times throughout the year.

Upcoming start dates include January 16 and February 13, 2019. The courses may also be scheduled on-demand for a private group of 20+ educators.

R2S Instructional Practices:

PBS TeacherLine course RDLA267: Teaching Phonics & Spelling for Beginning and Transitional Readers, 2nd Edition

This is a R2S-credit course applicable for educators certified in:

  • Early Childhood
  • Elementary
  • Special Education
  • Montessori (through Elem II)
  • ESOL (if primary area of certification

R2S Content Area Reading and Writing:

PBS TeacherLine course RDLA272: Vocabulary as a Foundation for Learning

This is a R2S-credit course applicable for educators certified in any area.  (The course is primarily intended for early childhood and elementary educators however it is R2S-approved for any educator.)

R2S Foundations in Reading:

PBS TeacherLine course RDLA152: An Introduction to Underlying Principles and Research for Effective Literacy Instruction

This is a R2S-credit course applicable for educators certified in:

  • Early Childhood
  • Elementary
  • Special Education
  • Montessori (through Elem II)
  • ESOL (if primary area of certification
