This new course Teaching and Learning in Carolina Classrooms, Series I fits the bill!

Many South Carolina educators have been inspired by and enjoyed learning from the outstanding SC Teacher of the Year Finalists showcased in the ETV Teacher Recertification course SC Teachers on Teaching! In addition to segments ETV taped in their classrooms where we get to see these fine educators working with their students, in these courses we are privy to interesting discussions on key educational topics and learn about free online resources that can impact teaching and learning!

This NEW ETV Teacher Recertification course entitled Teaching and Learning in Carolina Classrooms, Series I is similar to the SC Teachers on Teaching course, providing a look at our SC Teachers of the Year 2017 and 2018, plus discussions from ETV Carolina Classrooms series on a variety of interesting topics of importance to educators! SC educators may earn 20 renewal credits by taking this new, online/self-paced course that is approved by the SC Department of Education. Cost is $75 for 20 renewal credits.

Teaching and Learning in Carolina Classrooms, Series I

Offered for the first time in the SPRING II session – April 23 through June 14. Registration is open through May 11. This course will continue to be offered in all sessions: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring I, and Spring II.

Teaching and Learning in Carolina Classrooms, Series I

(20 renewal credits) (NEW SPRING II)

Teaching and learning today is much more than the traditional lecture-based classroom, face-to-face interaction. Teachers are the facilitators of learning and must be learners themselves. The ETV and PBS programs in this course share messages of courage in education – to take risks, to advocate, to lead, and to share ideas. From looking at teacher training and retention to digital literacy and education options for students, from experiencing a year in schools in a struggling community to examining college and career readiness for all students, these programs allow us to learn from education leaders, students and teachers, and parents and community partners who work to make a difference each day in our SC classrooms. (Recommended for teachers of all grade levels)
