Season 2 of "Martin's Math Club” continues!  The SC Education Oversight Committee (EOC) is pleased to continue their partnership with University of South Carolina Head Men's Basketball Coach Frank Martin and the University of South Carolina Athletics Department for Season 2 of "Martin's Math Club.”

The contest provides the opportunity for South Carolina teachers and students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade to win two tickets to a University of SC Men's Basketball team home game. With assistance from SC math educators, the EOC has published 27 standards-based lessons for K-8th grade that incorporate math and basketball. The added twist is that this season's lessons focus on the Gamecocks' historic run to the Final Four last season!

Each teacher who incorporates at least one of three available lessons in each grade level (from Season 1 or Season 2) into their teaching has the chance to win two tickets to a USC home basketball game and each student who receives a lesson will be eligible to win two tickets to a home basketball game.

There are tickets available for every home game in the upcoming season and there is no limit to the number of tickets … Coach Martin has designated a section in the Colonial Center for Martin’s Math Club winners! Winners will be recognized at each game and may have the chance to meet Coach Martin. Teachers will be honored at two of the home games.

The EOC and Coach Martin will host a Teacher Appreciation Event during the February 21 game against Georgia.
