EOC: Resources Available for Back-to-School
As students and families prepare for the new school year, please be aware that there are many resources available to help.
The Family-Friendly Guides to the SC Academic Standards are excellent tools for teachers and parents. The website (http://www.scfriendlystandards.org/) provides information for parents and families about what their children should be learning in school based on the standards. These resources are ideal for families to receive during back-to-school events and parent-teacher conferences. The family-friendly guides, which are a collaboration between the Education Oversight Committee (EOC) and the SC Department of Education (SCDE), are available for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The guides are also available in Spanish.
Additionally, the EOC and SC math teachers have developed web-based resources (https://helpwithmathsc.org/) to help students in Kindergarten through 7th grade with math. Grade level links provide resources - activities, book, websites, and apps - on specific concepts found in the SC College and Career Ready Standards in mathematics.
