Young digital readers

Educators, you know the power of reading! Help your students develop a daily, joy-centered reading practice with the strategies in this new course from PBS TeacherLine! You’ll learn how to ignite students’ interest through personal, real-world connections, explore digital reading and audio technologies, discover how to use a wealth of online resources and tools, and analyze social reading’s power to connect and engage. You’ll also develop and implement a classroom literacy initiative that will inspire a love of reading through authentic experiences.

The course, RDLA400 Developing Passionate Readers in a Digital World (K-6), is the latest in PBS TeacherLine’s inventory of reading and language arts courses. Delivered entirely online and actively led by a highly-qualified facilitator, the course offers dynamic media, authentic tasks, and engaging peer discussion over its six-week period.

  • Session 2: Creating a Literacy Practice
  • Session 3: Digital Reading and Resources
  • Session 4: Reading to Connect and Engage
