Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Arthur begins a new season with four new episodes the week of October 10. TV’s longest-running animated children’s series has fueled imaginations and fostered a love of reading for a generation of kids and adults!

Based on the best-selling books written and illustrated by Marc Brown, the show is set in the fictional American city and revolves around the lives of 8-year-old Arthur Read, and anthropomorphic aardvark, and his friends and family. Arthur often deals with important issues families face and also encourages reading and relationships with family and friends by explaining that people have different personalities and interests.

In partnership with Cinar, WGBH Boston began production of the animated series in 1994. The first episode aired in October 1996. Since its debut, the show has broadcast over 200 episodes, making it the second-longest active running show on PBS Kids, behind Sesame Street.

Arthur has won seven Emmys and received the coveted George Foster Peabody Award. Don’t miss these new episodes as we celebrate 20 years of Arthur on ETV Kids!
