August 11, 2016 - Posted in Business by Andrea Esselman

It is tough for performing artists to make a living pursuing their passion. Despite our community valuing the arts, those who pursue a career in the arts are constantly struggling to get their work off the ground.

This is where Midlands Technical College steps in.

The Harbison Theater at Midlands Technical College is the home of the Performance Incubator, which invites local professional artists to create new works that are suitable for touring, and then premieres those works on its stage. Guided by a mission to make living in the Midlands a smart career choice for professional performing artists, the Performance Incubator seeks to draw artists to our community while providing quality productions to its audiences.

Check out how two local productions got their start at the Performance Incubator and are now able to tour locally and throughout the Southeast.
