On this episode of Studio See, orienteering combines cross-country racing with a compass course. Contestants are given a map to follow and there are checkpoints to be met They receive their clues and then proceed to the next point. The effort is both physical and mental.
Next, we meet kiteman Al Hartig, who teaches young people how to improve and repair their kites. Al and his wife, Betty, have higher demand for kites than they can meet. The kites can usually be repaired and kept for years.
Next, we visit a thoroughbred farm and find out about the care required to keep and train horses.
