South Carolina ETV (SCETV) will premiere season 2 of the Emmy-nominated digital series Wild Wild South: South Carolina Edition on April 22, continuing its adventurous journey through the Southern wilds while highlighting natural landscapes and unique wildlife. Hosted by wildlife camerawoman and filmmaker Hyatt Mamoun, the new four-episode season offers a blend of nature exploration and humor, bringing audiences closer to the animals and habitats that define this remarkable region.
This new season provides Mamoun the opportunity to venture into diverse environments across South Carolina. From the mountainous terrain of Table Rock State Park to the old-growth forests of Congaree National Park, she uncovers stories of the region’s wildlife and ecosystems with curiosity, insight and a sense of adventure. Additional episodes highlight Lowcountry fossil discoveries and the ACE Basin’s rich biodiversity, offering a broader view of the state’s natural wonders.
Each episode highlights a different environment across South Carolina, offering an immersive look at the state’s wildlife and ecosystems:
- Episode One: “Table Rock” – South Carolina’s slice of the Great Smoky Mountains has some of the most vibrant wildlife and incredible foliage. Hyatt chases the sunset to capture one of the state’s most stunning views while exploring the rich biodiversity of this iconic landscape.
- Episode Two: “Mysteries of Congaree” – Hyatt embarks on an expedition deep into one of America’s most mysterious national parks, trekking into the heart of an ancient, primeval forest to discover the unique flora and fauna that lie within.
- Episode Three: “Fossil Finding in the Lowcountry” – The Lowcountry is home to some of the most unique wildlife on earth— and it always has been. Hyatt explores the connection between ecology and geology, from extreme tides that shape the land to fossils hidden beneath the surface for millions of years.
- Episode Four: “Night in the Basin” – As the sun sets, the ACE Basin reveals its secrets. Equipped with a flashlight, camera and curiosity, Hyatt encounters nocturnal wildlife and witnesses a rare, awe-inspiring natural display that caps off an unforgettable night.
Hyatt Mamoun is a filmmaker and producer based in the American South whose passion lies in sharing her curiosity about the natural world. Since the premiere of Wild Wild South: Lowcountry Edition in April 2025, Mamoun has brought viewers along on her adventures through engaging storytelling that blends science, exploration and humor. Raised in Georgia, she developed an early love for wildlife through hands-on experiences and time spent outdoors with her family, shaping her perspective as an “every person’s wildlife expert.” Mamoun later combined her interest in storytelling and nature, earning a master’s degree in wildlife and environmental filmmaking from American University, where she was a Center Scholar and received a student Emmy Award for her work. With a focus on conservation through education and entertainment, she continues to explore diverse landscapes, capturing the stories of wildlife in ways that connect with and inspire audiences.
Wild Wild South: South Carolina Edition is distributed by SCETV with funding from the ETV Endowment of South Carolina. The series is produced by Sound Off Films.
The four-episode season will be released bi-weekly, beginning May 6, across SCETV’s digital platforms, including SCETV.org, PBS.org, the SCETV and PBS apps, Facebook and YouTube. Previous episodes are available to view at SCETV.org.
