South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) will host CTRL+ALT+CREATE, a free, family-friendly event, on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SCETV studios, located at 1041 George Rogers Blvd. in Columbia. The event invites the public to experience the innovative world of SCETV educational programming through immersive and interactive educational exhibits designed to engage learners of all ages.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore South Carolina's natural wonders, rich history and vibrant communities through the lens of SCETV's engaging digital series. From hands-on learning activities to creative maker experiences and interactive educational demonstrations, CTRL+ALT+CREATE offers children and families opportunities to learn through play, discovery and creativity. Guests can also enjoy activities inspired by SCETV educational content and community partnerships, encouraging curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Hyatt Mamoun, host of Wild Wild South; the cast of SCETV's new podcast The AUXdacity; SCETV Chief Meteorologist Tim Miller; and Smart Cat. A live animal encounter will provide another interactive way for families to connect with South Carolina's wildlife and natural world.
In 2025, SCETV held the inaugural CTRL+ALT+CREATE event, welcoming hundreds of families from across the state to engage with SCETV's local educational programming. The indoor experience offers a fun alternative to outdoor summer activities for those families looking for a free educational event, and guests may attend any portion of the event from when activities begin at 10 a.m. until they end at 2 p.m.
As part of the event, visitors are invited to support SCETV's annual Palmetto Pencil Project, a statewide teacher supply drive benefiting South Carolina classrooms. Guests may donate new classroom essentials, including writing utensils, notebooks, folders, glue sticks, tissues, hand sanitizer and other school supplies to help equip educators with the resources they need for a successful school year. Donations collected during the event will support teachers and students in communities across the state.
Convenient, free parking is available in the front parking lot of SCETV, with overflow parking located behind the building. Guests should enter through the front lobby.
