South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) has expanded access to ETV World by livestreaming the channel, allowing audiences to watch in real time on the SCETV website, the SCETV app and the PBS app. The streaming option enhances public access to news, global programming and gavel-to-gavel coverage of the South Carolina General Assembly.

ETV World is one of SCETV’s four television channels and features international news and documentary programming through SCETV’s partnership with WORLD, a public media destination for news and nonfiction storytelling. WORLD programming includes global newscasts from outlets such as DW, France 24, BBC and NHK, as well as original series including America ReFramed, Doc World, Local, USA and Stories from the Stage.

The ETV World livestream also provides access to SCETV’s local programming, including Statehouse coverage, further strengthening South Carolina-focused public affairs content. National programs air alongside SCETV-produced public affairs content, including This Week in South Carolina. Additionally, a cornerstone of ETV World’s schedule is State House Today, which delivers live coverage of the South Carolina House and Senate every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the legislative session. Broadcasting directly from the Statehouse in Columbia, the program provides real-time access to floor debates, votes and legislative action. This year, SCETV reporters offer daily previews during the live broadcast, giving viewers added context on key issues and what to expect before sessions begin.

ETV PBS KIDS and the main ETV channel have been available for viewers to stream on demand since 2020. In 2025, SCETV announced livestreams of the 24/7 national versions of NHK WORLD-JAPAN and Create® TV for South Carolina viewers. SCETV continues its expansion of access to high-quality educational content, ensuring viewers can learn whenever, wherever and however they choose. Audiences now have more flexibility, with options to stream on their preferred devices and at their convenience. This continued expansion reinforces SCETV’s commitment to lifelong learning, providing South Carolinians with the tools and resources to discover, create and explore the world around them, anytime and anywhere.

Viewers can continue to watch ETV World using an over-the-air antenna or by checking local cable listings. Viewers now have the option to livestream the channel on the SCETV website, through the SCETV app and PBS app.
