This SCETV special commemorates the 50th anniversary of The Orangeburg Massacre. Survivors, participants and officials share their remembrances and struggle to provide some sense of reckoning and hopes for closure. Jack Bass is a featured member of the panel of participants. Martha Alewine takes us on a Literary Tour of South Carolina where we meet noted author Jack Bass. Produced in 2008 for Instructional Television for the South Carolina Department of Education, Professor Bass provides writing hints necessary to become a successful, readable author.

Jack Bass, democratic nominee, U.S. House 2nd District is interviewed about his campaign. Dr. Blachman noted that as a journalist, Jack Bass has covered numerous campaigns and written the book The Transformation of Southern Politics, and he asked if Bass still felt the same way about Southern politics as when he wrote the book.
