As we approach the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, we pause to honor the lives lost, the courage of those who answered the call to serve and the resilience that continues to carry our nation forward. While I will never forget the events of that day, I am reminded that our greatest strength is found in supporting, respecting and embracing one another, especially in times of adversity. At South Carolina ETV and Public Radio, we are proud to preserve these stories and celebrate the enduring spirit of our communities. Through thoughtful programming, we invite all South Carolinians to reflect, remember and reaffirm the values that continue to unite us.
That commitment is reflected throughout our September lineup. Man in Red Bandana premieres Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. on ETV, and a special SCETV program titled Remembering 9/11: South Carolina Reflects premieres on Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. on ETV, followed by Surviving 9/11: Where We Stand at 8:30 p.m. Together, these programs honor the courage, compassion and resilience that emerged from one of our nation’s defining moments.
September also recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month with programming that celebrates the rich history culture and lived experiences of Hispanic and Latino communities. Who’s the We? premieres Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. on the South Carolina Channel, and VOCES: Omara – Cuba’s Legendary Diva airs Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. on ETV.
The month also highlights health and wellbeing. New episodes of Solbird Sessions premiere Sept. 3 and 17 at 9 p.m. on ETV, while new editions of IMPACT South Carolina and Palmetto Perspectives premiere Sept. 24 beginning at 7 p.m. on ETV, exploring healthcare access and the changing patient experience. During Telehealth Awareness Week, Sept. 20-26, SCETV’s digital platforms will share stories that demonstrate how virtual care is improving lives across South Carolina. On the air later in the month, SC Public Radio will also share a new episode of Who, What, When recorded live from Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
We are grateful for your continued support. Together, we remain committed to sharing stories that inform, inspire and strengthen the connections that bring our communities together.
