In recognition of Black History Month and International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Black and Jewish America: An Interwoven History with Henry Louis Gates Jr. premieres Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. on ETV. Additional Black history programming will air throughout February on ETV and the South Carolina Channel, with dedicated content on Mondays at 9 p.m. on ETV and music featured on Sunday nights on the South Carolina Channel. On SC Public Radio, Narrative will feature two Black History Month–themed episodes, capturing personal stories of South Carolinians through intimate conversations, including an account from Columbia native Gloria Dreher Eaddy reflecting on her experience at the 1963 March on Washington.

Feb. 7 marks the launch of SoCon on SCETV, a new limited-run basketball series bringing live Southern Conference men’s and women’s games to viewers across South Carolina each Saturday in February on ETV. Coverage will continue into the first Saturday in March, when SCETV broadcasts the 2026 Ingles SoCon Basketball Championships men’s quarterfinal games on the South Carolina Channel. This partnership expands access to collegiate athletics for fans across the state while reinforcing SCETV’s commitment to local storytelling, education and community connection.

Education and athletics are deeply connected, reinforcing discipline, teamwork, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. I know personally the great value athletics bring to education—not only in shaping students academically, but in developing character, resilience, and leadership. As South Carolina’s public media network, SCETV plays a vital role in highlighting this connection, using athletics as a powerful entry point to engage learners, tell meaningful stories, and showcase the educational impact of sports both on and off the field.

For non-sports viewers, Feb. 8 brings new episodes of Miss Scarlet, All Creatures Great and Small and Bookish on ETV. On the South Carolina Channel, What’s Wild returns for season 4 on Feb. 23 at 8 p.m., showcasing the state’s rare wildlife and conservation efforts. For younger viewers and families, the new PBS KIDS series Phoebe & Jay premieres on Feb. 2, airing weekdays at 9:30 a.m., as the curious twins discover adventure and community at Tobsy Towers.

New original programming continues with the digital premiere of The AUXdacity in February across SCETV’s website, Facebook and YouTube. The new visual podcast explores the intersection of music, culture, education and politics through in-depth conversations with local musicians, educators and cultural voices.

SCETV remains committed to serving South Carolinians through thoughtful, community-centered programming.
