Nancy Rhyne | Writers' Circle of South Carolina (1992) | ETV Classics

Our host Patti Just speaks with South Carolina author Nancy Rhyne. After a snake bite, a creative writing course sent her on a new path leading to 12 books in 11 years. Her work includes Alice Flagg, Once Upon a Time on a Plantation, and Touring the Coastal South Carolina Backroads

One of her most famous novels, Alice Flagg, tells the full story of an iconic coastal ghost. Rhyne gathers her inspiration from those around her in Murrell’s Inlet, where everyone is a storyteller.  From ghost stories to southern legends, Rhyne captures the rich oral traditions of the low country.

Patti Just, host of the Writers' Circle of South Carolina, talks with authors and poets from across the state and country whose work highlights South Carolina’s rich history, diverse culture, and people.
