Dr. Charles Finch on Gerald Massey's Ancient Egypt: The Light of the World Parts 3 and 4 | For the People | ETV Classics

In this two-part program from For the People, Host Listervelt Middleton sits down to talk with Dr. Charles Finch, a distinguished scholar from Morehouse School of Medicine. They delve into Gerald Massey’s work, "Ancient Egypt: The Light of the World." (Parts 3 and 4 of a six-part series.)

Part 3

This interview begins with a discussion of the zodiac. The ancient Egyptians made a complete representation of their world in the heavens. They were stargazers and were aware of the movements of various heavenly bodies. He explains the passage of time through the ages and how the equinoxes affect this over time. He gives examples of history related to the ages and discusses the symbols of the zodiac that relate to these. He points out that there is an order, structure and harmony to nature. Within these cycles, there is great latitude for individual action, but the overall framework is in place. The spirit of the times is there, and the ability for individuals to make the most out of their experience on earth depends on how well they understand and incorporate the spirit of the times. The discussion continues. Please view the full interview for more information, including the conversation about the birth of a divine child in ancient Egypt.

Part 4

The fourth segment begins with a discussion of the manger as a place of birth. Dr. Finch discusses the divine child and earlier manifestations, including the lamb and the calf, later manifested as Jesus. Next, they discuss Genesis and the creation story and what is written in the Book of the Dead. They discuss the Exodus from the Bible and Dr. Finch mentions the exodus made by the Egyptians and how, after generations, they settled among the people there, married and had families, and were indistinguishable from the people among whom they settled. Dr. Finch discusses languages and compares the names from the Bible to the names used by Egyptians, and their meaning. Please view the full interview for all the details.
