Studio See: TV-TV (1978) | ETV Classics

This episode of Studio See follows the Miller family who prefer not to watch TV. The parents decided their children should not watch TV since they were very young. Instead the Millers are active with other hobbies and activities. They describe television as a “drug” that people are addicted to.

The second segment of this episode takes us to Irvine, California.  We visit a school that broadcasts its own courses, allowing students to experience what it’s like to be a teacher by planning and delivering lessons. This innovative system connects them with other schools, enabling students to teach one another different subjects and ask questions through live television broadcasts.

For the last segment, we travel outside of the United States to Paris. The Centre Georges Pompidou provides a lot of activities for people to do and is one of the most popular places to go to in Paris. Children who have lived in both Paris and the United States are asked to share the differences they noticed between the two countries and which one they preferred.
