SCETV hosts free family event offering immersive exhibits, hands-on activities and character meet-and-greets

South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) will host CTRL + ALT + CREATE, a free, family-friendly event, on July 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SCETV Columbia studio, located at 1041 George Rogers Blvd. This event invites the public to explore the innovative world of SCETV’s educational programming through immersive and interactive exhibits designed to engage audiences of all ages.

CTRL+ALT+CREATE invites guests to experience SCETV’s latest content in fresh and immersive ways. Activities will be ongoing, so attendees can drop in at any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to enjoy. Visitors can explore Expedition VR, the network’s newest virtual reality series, by putting on a VR headset and journeying through South Carolina’s stunning landscapes. They can also test their knowledge of state history with Curiosity Trek! and discover the state’s natural environment through engaging content from Wild Wild South and What’s Wild. Hands-on activities from KidsECON, an animated series that teaches banking basics, will help kids learn about dollars and cents.

The event will also feature educational and entertaining activities inspired by kids programming. Young visitors will have the chance to meet some of their favorite characters, including Smart Cat, Ziggy from Ziggy’s Arts Adventure, Carl from Carl the Collector and Zeke from Work it Out Wombats!. A special opening ceremony with SCETV and PBS Kids characters will kick off the event at 10 a.m., with meet and greet opportunities to follow.

Convenient, free parking for the event is located in the front parking lot of SCETV with overflow parking located behind SCETV's building. Guests will enter for the event through the front lobby.

Although admission is free and this event is open to the public, pre-registration is requested. More information is available online at scetv.org/events.
