The Ninety-Six National Historic Site located in Greenwood, SC was the site of two battles in the American Revolution. This location figured prominently in the Southern Campaign in the American Revolution. One of the longest field sieges of the Revolutionary War took place here in 1781 when 1,000 Patriot troops under command of General Nathanael Greene attacked the fort.
