Cinderella (1974) | ETV Classics

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Cinderella and she has finally been released from the ETV Tape Vault! 

This Ballet in Three Acts by Serge Prokofiev was directed and produced by Sidney Palmer and performed by the Columbia City Ballet under the direction of Ann Brodie and Adolfina Suarez-More. Beautifully danced, choreographed, and costumed, this ETV Classic is sure to delight! Dancing the role of Cinderella is Mimi Wortham and Prince Charming, Henry Everett. The program aired on PBS during the holiday season the following year and we are very pleased to bring this jewel to you now.

  • Cinderella - Op. 87, is a ballet composed by Sergei Prokofiev to a scenario by Nikolai Volkov.

  • Sidney Palmer 1928 - 2016 Obituary. In 1979, Mr. Palmer moved to the South Carolina ETV Network to accept the position of Executive Director for National Programming. It was there that he produced operas, such as The Consul, Vanessa, and Willie Stark for the Great Performances series, and Pilobolus and The Paul Taylor Dance Company for the Dance in America series.
