Bluegrass Express

From the ETV tape vault, we are pleased to present a bundle of bluegrass in these two ETV Classics productions of Bluegrass Express. WRJA, Sumter produced Bluegrass Express for five years, live at the Sumter Opera House. This programming showcases performances by the band Ridge Hill in 2004 and 2008, which blaze with bluegrass classics!

Bluegrass Express (2004)

In the 2004 production of ETV Classic, Bluegrass Express we find featured band, Ridge Hill, launching into a rollicking version of Get Along Home Cindy Cindy followed by Bill Monroe's Love Oh Love Please Come Home. Band members include Mike Vaughn on upright bass, Jonathan Anderson on banjo, Joe Moore on guitar, and Don Jones on mandolin. The hour long presentation includes a medley of bluegrass standards that will delight.

Bluegrass Express (2008)

This hour-long toe-tapping edition of ETV Classics Bluegrass Express was produced by WRJA, Sumter in 2008, featuring the band, Ridge Hill. The band kicks off the program with Osborne Brother's standard Della Mae! Buckle up as Ridge Hill plays Walk Softly On This Heart of Mine, I Hear A Choo Choo Coming, Foggy Mountain Breakdown, and He Took Your Place, among others. Host Bruce Mayer conducts a group interview in which the musicians talk about themselves and the band.
