Widespread Severe Storms Possible Thursday

Scattered to possibly numerous severe t-storms with a risk for strong winds, large hail, and local flooding are expected Thursday morning through the evening hours. Storms will hit the state in 2 or 3 waves as they form along a slow-moving cold front in the morning, with more rounds of stormy weather likely throughout the day.

The highest threats for damaging wind and hail will be in the afternoon and evening, but the risk for local flooding will last all day. Some places may pick up several inches of rain in a very short time causing street flooding and travel delays. Where the water covers the road, turn around and find another way!

Please stay weather aware and head indoors when those storms pass by. T-storm chances will continue on Friday, but threats for damaging weather will be much lower.
