Gov. Henry McMaster outlines his executive budget with Lt. Gov. Pam Evette at the Statehouse on Jan. 10, 2022. Gov. McMaster’s budget includes massive spending proposals for the more than $3 billion in surplus funding and the $2.5 billion the state received from the American Rescue Plan Act. House lawmakers will take the budget under advisement as they begin crafting their own version this week when they return to Columbia.
