SC Gov. Henry McMaster used his fifth State of the State speech to the General Assembly this week to repeat calls for some long-time goals such as a tax cut, funding for infrastructure improvements, a police officer in every school, and a new funding formula for public schools.
McMaster also praised the state’s booming economy and its’ low unemployment rate.
Aside from touting the state’s economic prosperity, the Republican Governor’s election year speech contained a hard partisan edge. He assailed President Biden and what he called his "liberal allies" for an array of federal policies on immigration, vaccine mandates, and pro-abortion actions.
