American Graduate Celebrating Champions and Partners
American Graduate has seen many successes since the initiative began in 2011, but new data from a comprehensive evaluation validates the value of public media's commitment to this kind of work.
Community partners have been an integral part of American Graduate, helping participating public media stations ensure that station efforts are aligned with local challenges, solutions, and priorities.
The second phase of American Graduate, which launched in May 2013, saw stations engage 1,381 partners across various sectors, including schools, non-profits, businesses, civic leaders, and more. Results from the evaluation reinforce that public media is valued, essential, and needed. In a study conducted in early 2016, partners told us that they most valued public media's expertise, reach, resources, engagement, knowledge, and connections. Partners also reported seeing increased participation in their programs (51%), increased volunteerism (33%), and more.
100% of American Graduate partners surveyed said [their partnership] helped raise awareness of issues, leading to increased participation in programs and provided cost saving opportunities for organizations.
